TCS PAPER ON 14th FEBRUARY AT RAJARHAT
The test pattern of the exam held by TCS:
1st Round:Aptitude Test Pattern: online.
1st section :-verval section(20 minutes,)
2nd section:-quatitative aptitude(40 minutes,38 questions(may vary for others))
3rd section:-logical reasoning(30 minutes,12 questions)
for the verval section I would suggest u to go thru the BARRON’s GRE preparation material,it really helps,for the second part just be thorough with the last year papers as the pattern almost remains the same,only the data are changed,and try to work out the methods with which the sums are solved,and for the last section go thru R.S.AGGARWAL(verbal & non verval),it will be more than enough.since the test was conducted online,so even thogh the paper was on the easier side,yet few people found it hard to crack because of very limited time,so along with ur preparation just look to manage TIME as well,it’s very important!!!!
After the test the results were announced & fortunately out of the list my name was there in the list,then we were asked to fill up a form(the HR form).After that we were told to come to TECHNO INDIA,SALTLAKE on 17th for the technical/hr/pi interview at 8.30a.m sharp,after reaching the college we found that the names were being called on a random basis,so the day which we always dreamt of,started,after the entire day’s hectic schedule & nervousness,atlast my name was called at 3.30 pm.I entered the room & foind two other panels in the same room itself,I got tremendously nervous,in my panel there were two people sitting on the other side of the bench,but they were very polite,they asked me to come in & take my sit,and my interview finally started.
Int1:”tell me something about urself”
Me:told(but guys please avoid the general intro like I am this………..,the best way is to use some tag lines and then with respect to that start ur intro,it will be the best,but come prepared,this question do matter a lot)
Int2:”what is
Me: microprocessor.
Int1:”what is the last & 2nd instruction executed in the interruprt service routine”?
Me:said last :-return;
2nd last:EI(enable interrupt)(in most cases but may vary accrdng the way the service routine is written by the programmer)
Int 2:”what is interrupt??difference between maskable and non-maskable interrupts.”
Me:said.
Int1:”so u know microprocessor very well,what are the programming languages do u know???”
Me:C,C++(basic concepts)
Int2:”which portion of C do u find most difficult to understand?”
Me:”sir the concept of pointer is bit difficult to grasp in at first”
And then something started which I was not expecting at all,I was asked question on pointers only.they gave me atleast 5-6 programs whose o/p was to be determined,I solved all the problems but they told u should have given the answers within 30 secs atmost,then I started feeling that I will be eliminated,anyways then they followed me up with two puzzle problems,which fortunately I was able to solve but again the same response from them as mentioned earlier,then they asked me that why I want to join TCS?????then they again gave me to write a program to swap two numbers without using third variable using two logics ,the first one was simple as almost all of us know (x=(x+y),y=(x-y),x=(x-y)),but I got stuck with the second logic, anyways I told them we can use other operatrors like(*,/etc),he was impressed with the approach of mine towards the problem
Then they asked me whether I had any questions to be asked or not,I asked their respective names and asked about the ongoing and future projects of TCS & also how can I being a student of electronics can establish myself in the field of IT industry,then I shook hands with them.
